Six boxes, then the typing stops. Somebody reads it properly, then picks up the phone to talk about the song, the date and the room you will be dancing in.
Plenty of couples want the arithmetic settled before they write a word. The package list is a short scroll below, and this form will still be here afterwards.

01 · Manchester weddings
In Manchester, the song turns up before the couple does.
Ask a Manchester couple what they are dancing to and you rarely get a shrug. You get a band, an album, and an argument that has been running since somebody's birthday in March. That is a very good place to begin a routine.
A city that takes its records personally.
Guitar bands, a Northern Soul stomper somebody's dad still swears by, a nineties remix that means something only to the two of you: Manchester couples arrive with opinions about music, and we would far rather build around those than talk anyone into a waltz. Awkward tempo, long intro, a live band playing it slightly differently — those are choreography problems, and choreography problems are our end of the deal.
Then the room decides the rest.
A converted mill in Ancoats, a hotel ballroom in the centre, a marquee out past Prestwich and a village hall in Sale all hand you a different amount of floor and a different set of sightlines. Your routine is drawn to fit the space you have actually booked, in the direction the guests will actually be sitting.
02 · Your instructor
Your Manchester choreographer, matched to your postcode.
Lessons here are taught by instructors who work across Manchester and know exactly how long it takes to get from Didsbury to Salford at six on a Friday.
We pair you with someone who already covers your part of the city, and then leave the three of you to it for the whole run of lessons. The same instructor every time means nobody has to re-explain the song, the shoulder that clicks, or which of you is quietly dreading the walk on. They listen to your track properly, count it, and write your routine from what they hear in it.
Nothing is recycled from another couple, because there is no house routine sitting in a drawer to recycle. Should your dates put you with a different member of the Manchester team, neither the method nor the figures printed below shift by a penny.

These are the same figures we charge everywhere else in the country. Always per couple, never per person, and never hidden behind a callback.

04 · Where in Manchester
Kitchens in Chorlton, ballrooms in the centre.
Lessons are private and they come to you. Three kinds of floor work, and a fair number of couples use two of them before the day.
Your own place
Terraces in Chorlton, apartments in Ancoats, semis out in Prestwich and Sale. If two people can stand a metre apart with the sofa shoved back, that is a floor. No meter to feed, no audience, and the kettle is yours.
Your wedding venue
Where the venue will let us through the door, an hour on the real boards is worth two anywhere else. You learn how far you can travel before you run out of room, and where the top table will be watching from.
A floor we hire
When home is tight, or the routine is meant to stay secret from a housemate, we book a room a short drive from you. Which one depends on your side of the city and gets confirmed when the lesson is booked.
05 · Coverage
Wedding Dance Manchester — the centre and everything inside the M60.
Chorlton, Didsbury, Ancoats, the Northern Quarter, Castlefield, Salford, Prestwich, Whalley Range, Levenshulme, Stretford, Urmston and Sale, then outward to Stockport, Altrincham, Bury, Oldham and Bolton. Sitting just past that ring? Ask anyway; the answer is generally yes. The record matters here; a first dance in Manchester usually starts with an argument about it, and that's fine.

2 hrsthe rescue option, openly priced and taught without a lecture
Almost nobody dances a whole track, and almost nobody needs to. Part of the job is deciding where the record should end — a fade, a hard stop, or the point where the band drops out — and telling whoever runs the music exactly where that is.
Two songs, no agreement.
This comes up most weeks. Sometimes the answer is a switch, with one track for walking on and a second when the tempo lifts and the room realises something is happening. Sometimes it is simply the better song winning on merit. Either way it gets settled in the first lesson rather than the final week, because the steps are built to the record you choose.
What Manchester couples ask about songs and getting about.
Local questions here. The broader ones — shoes, timing, never having danced — live on the main page.
Our song is a Manchester guitar record with no obvious beat. Can you choreograph to that?
Yes, and it is asked here more than anywhere. Tracks that drift, sprawl or refuse to sit on a clean four are counted by phrase instead of by drum, so you move with the vocal line rather than chasing a pulse that is not really there. Done that way it tends to look more natural than a strict count, not less.
Can the lessons move around the city, one in Didsbury and the next in Ancoats?
They can. Plenty of couples are still living at two addresses while they plan, so we split the run between them, and others do the early sessions at home and the last one nearer the venue. Give us the postcode for each lesson when you book it and your instructor will plan the driving around it.
Is there a travel charge for lessons out in Salford, Stockport or Prestwich?
No. The package price is the package price right across Greater Manchester, wherever we end up meeting you. If your address is a fair way beyond the M60 and you are not sure it counts, put it in the form and we will confirm before anything is booked.
We want to change our song after the first lesson. Is that a disaster?
Not if we hear about it early. Steps written for one track rarely transfer cleanly to another, so a swap in week one costs you almost nothing while a swap in the final week costs you a lesson. If either of you is wobbling on the choice, say so at the start and we will keep the early material flexible.
How do we tell the band or the DJ where to cut the track?
Your instructor gives you a time — the exact second the routine finishes — and it is worth writing that on the running order rather than trusting anyone to guess. Live bands often prefer an agreed ending to a fade, which is fine; the routine is timed to whichever you pick, as long as everyone knows the plan by the week before.
Do you teach in the city centre itself, around the Northern Quarter and Castlefield?
We do, and those flats are usually the smallest floors we work on all year. That is not the problem it sounds like: routines built in a tight space travel well, because they are controlled by habit. If a flat truly cannot take it, we move that one session to a hired room a few streets away and carry on.
